Based in Manchester, UK, John Hutchinson graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1999 and has since built a diverse career spanning performance, composition, arranging, production and education.
As a trumpeter, John has performed at the highest professional level with leading orchestras and internationally renowned artists, including Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Jamiroquai, Joss Stone, English National Opera, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Big Band. His experience as a composer, arranger, producer and co-writer alongside his performing career has given him an unusually broad perspective across classical, jazz, commercial and contemporary music.
John has an extensive catalogue of Production Music, with placements across major broadcasters and platforms including National Geographic, Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, ITV and the BBC. Alongside this work, he creates original scores and arrangements for commissioned projects spanning film and television, advertising, sonic branding, theatre, jazz, classical and popular music.
His combination of creative, technical and practical experience also underpins his work in music consultancy, advising across music production, composition, education, performance and the developing field of music and artificial intelligence.
